A mod that adds a lot of the English voice lines from all 3 STALKER games. Please click the 'read more' button.
I've never been big on using Russian voices as not understanding anyone is an immersion breaker for me, not the opposite, Thankyou.
Good, keep it up !
Nice! We should be able to fix the missing subtitles with this!
Hey, no problem! Glad I could finally do something for this awesome mod.
Actually, I wonder, do you think it would be possible to add something in the "Sound" tab of the Options Menu where you could choose between English and Russian voices?
Don't think so.
Misery had some file swapping system for the different class menu themes, but I don't think it would be practical to do something like that for 5,700+ sound files. :/
I've pinned this addon to the first page by the way.
Yeah, you're right, it wouldn't be practical with that many files. Oh well, thanks for answering.
Also, cool that it's pinned! ^_^
Not Practical? But Metro 2033 had an option like that and it had more choices than English & Russian. Would just have to be a "restart game to apply" sort of option. So the game would load one file set or the other.
AAAALLLOOOOOHHAAAAA!
"Howdy ho!"
HAY BRO!
"Hail, and well met!"
"You look a touch pale, buddy... how about an injection or two?"
"I said come in don't stand there"
"Get Out Of Here, Stalker."
"Not bad, some pretty good stuff you've got there!"
"Don't let the door hit you!"
COME IN SOMETIME. IT CAN BE FUN AROUND HERE!
"What are you, a statue? If you've got something, spill the beans. If not, take a hike!"
Whoops, I fixed the Description for the mod. My bad.
Before the recent updates for CoC I dragged and dropped the sound folder into the CoC gamedata folder and everyone spoke english, but with the new updates it went back to Russian. Thanks for making his mod! It feels nostalgic to hear the Loners say What's up bro! :)
A good mod to remind me of how horrible the english voice acting was.
Much appreciated, thanks!
Slight Update: Made it so Main NPC Voice Files (like Sidorovich, Barkeep, etc.) and Random NPCs are in a separate folder for each.
will this work on the latest version of coc?
yeah it does! Im using this add on with the latest coc version at the moment! :)
Updated and formatted for CoC 1.4. Obviously not all voices are in English, but there's enough.
2 new options when selecting what Factions have their English Voices:
Option 1 - Voice Actors from Clear Sky
Option 2 - Voice Actors from Call of Pripyat
You can use both at the same time if you want, I just separated them just in case people don't want to hear the inconsistencies.
Does this feature the "Arena Announcer" translation aswell?
You mean the old build Monster Arena or the Shadow of Chernobyl Arena?
The SoC Arena already has his voice in English in the game files, but there are no English lines for the old build Monster Arena.
Great addon! But if for important NPCs I hear english voices, the normal factions sayings are still in Ukranian (like bandits when they attack you, ets.), is this normal? May be this were never translated even in localized version on Vanilla games... mmm....
Yeah, it's always been like that. Most of the combat dialogue has had very little English translation across all 3 games. Clear Sky was probably the game with the most English Translated lines in combat, now that I think about it.
Can you explain to me how did you made the mod(as-in the exact procedure)? I would like to remake the same mod but with the French voices instead.(i.e. both CS and CoP had French dubs) Thanks.
I listened and compared CoC's audio files to the unpacked Russian files from SoC, CS, CoP. Then renamed (if I had to) the English audio files from all three games for CoC's files.
I'd suggest making a list of files that need renaming when comparing.
Hope I helped.
Thank you for the add-on! It's so nice to understand Sidorovich when I sell some crappy stuff to him...
thanks for making the faction sounds separate they are truly horrible ,but the other voices are a must have for me
Hey, is anyone experiencing the error "Source Path Too Long" in File Explorer when copying the folders into COC directory?
You either installed the game in a deep-level folder path (e.g. too many subfolders to get to CoC directory) or the length of the name of those subfodlers in its entirety is so big windows file explorer cannot retrieve it. Try renaming the CoC folder (or any folder CoC is located in) to something shorter, like renaming "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call Of Chernobyl" to just "Stalker-CoC".
will try it soon, thanks fam!
Just want to confirm that this addon still works for v1.5 just fine :)
Good to know. I'm going to be updating the addon very, very soon, but it's mostly to re-organize some stuff, and get rid of some unused files.
The new update is to mainly re-organize some of the folders and get rid of unused files as of CoC 1.5. I've also separated some of the 'Main NPC' voices, so that you can choose who you want to have speak English. (If you want me to separate those files even further, just ask.)
You'll notice a folder that's titled "Possibly Unused Argo & Cordon files". These files are still present in CoC's sound files, but I don't know if they're actually used or not, so I've included them anyways, just in case.
"Happy hunting."
Thanks for this addon, very useful!
Does this mod by chance work for CoM?
I don't see why it shouldn't. Last I recall, CoM's running 1.4.16, no? Should be fine to use then.
so this wont work for 1.4.22?
As I said above, "The new update is to mainly re-organize some of the folders and get rid of unused files as of CoC 1.5" There might be one or two missing files compared to 1.4, but it should still work.
Does this work for 1.4.16+ ?
Try it. If it does not work unsinstall. Its not that hard pal
Monolith are missing. :(
Anyway nice work mate. =)
Monolith never had an English voice (only the preacher had a few quotes)
EDIT: I apologize for not reading page 2. I see now that you've addressed this issue. Thanks!
Will this work with 1.4.16 still? If not, is there another link your could direct me to? I'm not having much luck with it.
