This is an officially supported port of Original Weapon Renewal 3 built from the ground up and designed specifically for Call of Chernobyl 1.4.16+ with many major changes and fixes.
Hopefully there isn't, but there may be bugs.

Hi, I noticed that the shotguns have been nerfed and wanted to know how to adjust them (what's been changed?) as I went to do the usual hit damage changes but the weapon files no longer have hit damage data in them, So any info on what's been done and what I need to do would be great. Cheers.
OWR is really unusual in that with the exception of a couple weapons none of them have a hit_power pair, so they all default to the ammo damage stats.
I don't think anything has ever been changed with balance because if I were to try I would probably end up making things worse, so I leave it up to community addons to tweak.
Why not take the stock values for guns from CoP and add them as an optional file in the next download? this seems like a serious issue with the mod, especially if it is meant to be a vanilla weapon resin mod.
Like Darryl said, what you are seeing is the damage of the ammo for shotguns and not the damage of the weapon. They changed the damage of the shotgun shells to 20 pellets each doing .12 damage. The game doesn't calculate the 20 pellets x .12 damage. It just lists the .12 damage in the stats, and ignores weapon damage (for some odd reason). I personally changed it back to the default 9 pellets (which is realistic) but upped the damage of each pellet to .40. This keeps shotguns incredibly lethal at close range, but the damage dropoff is severe at any distance, and completely worthless at long distance (which is why you keep a rifle handy as well).

Go to "weapons.ltx" in the mod files, then find the shotgun ammo. More specifically, "ammo_12x70_buck". There, you can change the values to the ones he suggested. Change the value for "buck_shot" to 9, then "k_hit" to 0.40. Save the text file and you're done.

Just wanted to say that shotgun can be lethal up to 70-100 meters if you use right ammo to it, like some 12/79 superspeed shells with full choke.
After installing night vision upgrade on "SVD" or "SVD Lynx" and re-entering upgrade menu I'm getting this error.

I believe its very old actually, cause saw it on older versions of OWR, would be cool if you can fix it in next update or even make a hotfix to v6 ^^
P.S. Other weapons in OWR are not crashing game with this upgrade.

Problem here ! Need Help i install Arsenal Overhaul then the Weapon Pack. Everything is fine but when i throw the OWR mod in the mix the game wont launch many exceptions. In the meantime i managed to get the game starting but now when i start a new game. i always get the exception cannot load m9a91 holster ...

You can't use both arsenal overhaul AND OWR. You have to choose one or the other. This has always been so for every STALKER game.

Mihzvol vebuntu Hi guys, it seems the problem with the F1 nades is due to these 2 lines in the w_f1.ltx file,
throw_point = 0.18, 1.636, -0.788
up_throw_factor = 1.2
I changed these values to match those in the w_gd5.ltx file and things seem to be back to normal. Hope that helps.

Hey I don't recall ever using this particular mod so I wanted to give it a whirl. So I downloaded it and unzipped and was ready to make my usual edits (I like to make it more challenging) but I was not able to locate the section in the weapons files where I can edit the hit power. Everything else, such as fire distance, dispersion base, etc was as usual. Where or what file do I need to edit in this mod to achieve this?

Yeah apparently in another comment someone wanted to know the same thing. It seems that except for a few weapons almost all weapon's damage is locked to the ammo type damage. So basically it's the ammo that does the damage, not the weapon. Change the ammo damage value if you want something different from what's there.

Good job! All animation automatic weapons that I saw were 2 types of recharge animation (complete and incomplete). Fixed reload animation only shotgun (SPAS): if you have not shot all the bullets, the bullets are fed into a recluse without further gate recharge. If the reclusive empty, after the filing of ammunition to distort the shutter. Now the gate distort anyway (which should not be).

Late reply but better then never I guess. No, weapon mods are not compatible with each other.
Some of the hand textures turn semi-translucent after installing OWR (ie. visual moving artifacts in the hand). This only happens when holding certain weapons, and the binoculars and detectors (the hands changed after installing OWR). This is most obvious when moving around, but here are screenshots (left hand).

This isn't exactly "original weapons" when you've replaced the P220 with a Glock and the LR-300 with an M4.

Yes, it says "1.4.16+", that + on the number means it's 1.4.16 or higher.

I've got 2 minor issues in this addon, that I couldnt fix by myself.
1. Fn2000 from Nimble in 3rd person looks like Steyr Aug. What should be done to fix that?
2. Saiga from Nimble in 3rd person is held a little bit too high. Which parameter in weapon config file is responsible for that?
